Hi all,

Latin dancer Judah Arrington is hosting dances in Buena Vista, Monday, June 27, 2022!

• 6pm-8pm: dance lesson
• 8pm-9pm: open dancing to recorded music
• $10 per person, $15 for couples
• For men: Judah recommends dress shoes or comfortable shoes
• For women: Judah recommends heels, but only if that’s comfortable and safe for you. Kitten heels are okay too but a little higher than that is preferable.
• Judah will explore salsa, Cha Cha, and merengue!

Judah's bio: "I’m certified in Latin dance teaching by DVIDA, an internationally acclaimed syllabus and method of ballroom dance instruction. I taught in Brentwood, TN for about a year, as well as in Leadville and summit county for about a year. I studied dance in high school and after.”

The location: Congregational United Church of Christ, 217 Crossman Ave, Buena Vista, CO 81211. Near the Buena Vista US Post Office. (The dance is held in the same room as the old contra dances were held a few years ago, before COVID.)

Roger & Teresa Moen are hosting dances in Buena Vista, the last Thursday night of each month, starting June 30, 2022!

• 6pm-7pm: drop-in dance lesson: on June 30, the lesson will be beginning Cowboy Cha-Cha couples line dance
• 7pm-9pm: open dancing to recorded music!

Dance to country music as well as some blues, swing, and more! Dance styles will include:

• Country Two Step
• West Coast Swing
• East Coast Swing (aka "Swing")
• Night Club Two Step
• Waltz
• A few line dances: Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Cowboy Cha-Cha, Cotton Eyed Joe
• Even a Latin Cha-Cha, Salsa, Rumba or two!

Donations to the church are appreciated; DJ music; masks are optional but we hope everyone is vaccinated.

Hi all,

Roger & Teresa Moen are hosting dances in Buena Vista, Saturday nights in May 2022!

• 6pm-7pm: drop-in dance lesson: beginning Country Two Step
• 7pm-9pm: open dancing to recorded music!
• Saturday nights: May 7, 14, 21, and 28

We'll see how it goes in May, and perhaps will continue during the summer if all goes well!

Lessons by Bill Ridout . Correction: Line dancing is only $8, not $10. Such a deal!

Lessons by Bill Ridout:

• Location: Buena Vista Community Center
• 715 E. Main Street, Buena Vista, Colorado 81211
• Held in the room at the southwest corner of the building
• Arrive one block to the south, via Cedar Street, and park in the parking lot on the west side of the building

All classes held at Jerri Line's Hi Steppin' dance studio in Salida, Colorado
- Beautiful wooden dance floor in a proper dance studio
- Each week will build on the previous week, so think of it as a sequence of classes - not a drop-in kind of class

The address is 547 Jones Ave, Salida, but don't rely on your GPS or smart phone - it'll put you a couple blocks away. It's on the south side of Jones Avenue, between Teller Street and Blake Street. A couple hundred yards north and east of the McDonald's on Hwy 50 (Rainbow Blvd).

Roger & Teresa will be teaching a 4-week series of West Coast Swing, Advanced Beginner / Low Intermediate, at Jerri Line's Hi Steppin' studio in Salida! Help us spread the word - here's a flyer that you can download, print, and post (with little tear-off strips).

- These are Advanced Beginner / Low Intermediate classes – must know the West Coast Swing basic steps including Sugar Push, Left Side Pass, Right Side Pass, and basic 8-count Whip
- Since students may be at different levels, we will try to accommodate everyone's needs
- Beautiful wooden dance floor in a proper dance studio
- Each week will build on the previous week, so think of it as a sequence of classes - not a drop-in kind of class
- Teresa will offer some dance styling tips for the ladies
- Call Jerri if you need a partner - we want an equal number of leaders & followers

* Each week the Tuesday 6:00pm class will continue to build on more advanced moves we have been learning in Country and Swing, with lots and lots of opportunities to dance and ask questions.

* The Tuesday 7:30pm class will be a review of each of the 4 "specialty" dances we worked on each month (Nightclub Two Step, Waltz, West Coast Swing, and Latin dances), again with lots of "floor time" dancing and review.

* Bill's last class for this year will be Tuesday, Sept. 24. No class on Thursday, Sept 26.
